The new "MainzPass" is a voluntary service provided by the state capital of Mainz. It makes it easier for Mainz residents to participate in social life, especially in the areas of culture, sports, and leisure.

You can take advantage of the following discounts:

• Mainz Mobility: You can obtain the special monthly ticket from the ticket machines at Mainz Mobility stops (not on the tram), at Mainz Mobility advance sales outlets, and at the transport center at Mainz Central Station. You can find an overview of the sales outlets in the links section.
• Events organized by the Office for Youth and Family (OPEN OHR Festival, vacation card, vacation and leisure activities)
• Bruchweg ice rink
• Mainz food bank
• Mainz Adult Education Center

• mainz STORE / Tourist Information: MainzPass holders receive a 10% discount on souvenirs (excluding wine, tickets, and books).
• Frankfurter Hof: MainzPass holders receive a 50% discount on the basic ticket price for cultural events at the Frankfurter Hof upon presentation of a valid ID card. The discount is granted at the box office.

Application:

• The initial application can only be made in person or by an appointed guardian.
• Renewals can also be made online or by mail. Please include the required documents.
• A power of attorney is sufficient for renewals.

Eligible persons
Persons who receive the following subsistence benefits:

• Basic security benefits for job seekers or social assistance (SGB II)
• Assistance with living expenses or basic security in old age and in the event of reduced earning capacity (SGB XII)
• Benefits under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act (AsylbLG)
• Housing allowance under the Housing Allowance Act (WoGG)
• Child supplement under the Federal Child Benefit Act (BKGG)

Validity

The validity of the MainzPass is limited to the period of the benefit approval or residence permit.
An extension is possible.

• The MainzPass and the discounts it offers are non-transferable.
• We issue a separate card for each eligible family member.

The MainzPass is issued immediately after consultation.

• Identity card or passport
• Current passport-size photo
• Current proof of income
• In the case of renewal and representation, a corresponding power of attorney

There are no fees.
