If your corporate card is about to expire, you can
- as a business owner or
- as an authorized representative or person with power of attorney
apply for a replacement card.
The company card is issued in the name of your company (not to an individual) and is valid for 5 years after it has been personalized by the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). You must apply for a new replacement card well in advance of the card’s expiration date. You may submit the application no earlier than 6 months before the expiration date.
As a business owner, you are responsible for the proper use of the card or cards. In addition, you must ensure that the company card is inserted into the tachograph at the beginning and end of the vehicle’s use for your company in order to assign the vehicle’s use to your company.
